I’m spending time trying to get our new product up as soon as possible. It’s all coming together…I guess I really wanted this upcoming collection to come out this past summer but now that I look at the pieces there is more of a fall vibe going on.

Speaking of seasons, I don’t think we’re going to limit ourselves to releasing by seasons, or call releases by the season we put em out. Of course I want at least a new batch of tees every season but I wanna hit you guys with new stuff whenever I can. I’m really proud of this new collection we got coming, it really shows our evolution as a brand.

Anyway, I also wanted to say that as much as Only Ones is mainly about making cool products, we are also working on creating cool events for everyone to enjoy. Right now we’re planning on doing monthly punk/hardcore/metal shows, these will also double as pop up shops in a way since we’ll have shirts there at discounted prices. So if you see something you like now or when the new stuff drops it might be worth it to come down to an “Only Ones Presents” show and pick up a discounted shirt and save on shipping as well. These shows are mainly going to be free admission so it’s really a win/win. We’re thinking big and have some exciting ideas in the works, so STAY TUNED.

JUST KEEP TELLING YOURSELF, “ITS ONLY A MOVIE.”

Last night a friend of mine texted me asking if me and my girlfriend wanted to go see paranormal activity. I said that I would be interested but i was curious as to where since paranormal activity is not something you just stumble upon. It’s the kinda thing where you gotta go to a specific place, like a haunted house or hotel or something. He then informed me he was talking about Paranormal Activity the movie! Me and my girlfriend chuckled at the hilarity for about 15 minutes and then we got a hold of reality and ended up seeing the movie.

I guess it’s obvious, from the long intro written above, that i never heard anything about this movie and just went into it cold turkey. I have to say it is pretty chilling. It works the same way as The Blair Witch Project does, i.e. hand held camera, “reality” footage and so on. So if you liked Blair Witch this is a must see for you.

The film focuses around the two main characters, Katie and Micah, a couple of three years who just moved in together. Little does poor Micah know, his girlfriend has been followed by a weird demon presence since she was 8. I don’t know about anyone else but that would kinda kill it a little for me. Like yo, I know I love you and shit but I can’t be having demons taking up real estate in my crib. ANYWAY…

They (the media) are saying this is one of the scariest films ever. I have to say this is probably one of the scariest movies I’ve ever seen. It’s not your traditional horror film filled with acts of terror every five minutes, this one creeps up on you. For an hour and half it slowly gets worse and worse for Katie and Micah, each night in their house is weirder than the last. This is the type of movie I’d rather not watch in my house alone in the middle of the night with the lights off. I’m not saying everyone will be scared but it’s definitely eerie. The film works because it is a mockumentary, it is made to seem real. While we all know it is not real, if the film were shot in a traditional fiction way it would not be as chilling.

I also just want to add that probably the scariest thing about this movie is what you don’t see but imagine. The scariest thing we have is our imagination, the same exact thing that makes us believe that noise we heard last night was maybe more than a noise. I’m reminded of Star Wars, when Luke asks Yoda what’s in the cave and Yoda says, “Only what you take with you.” Because we don’t see everything in Paranormal Activity our minds fill the blanks and that’s more horrifying than seeing it.

If you want to watch a good horror film, I say check out Paranormal Activity. Just calling it a good horror movie is saying a lot because good horror films are hard to come by these days.

DESTROY EVERYTHING!

Yo, WHADDUP SEN! I got the ill brand I’m bout to put you all on to. Only Ones and Single Second talk from time to time and they are some good cats. Much like us, they are just starting out. They actually just put up their second collection and we’re just about to put ours up.

ANYWAYS! Check out their new shit up on their site and if you see something you like take advantage of their new deal. The next five t-shirt orders they get will recieve a nice helping of stickers and a free t-shirt as well. THAT SOUNDS LIKE A DEAL TO ME! but act fast cuz by the time I write this that deal might be dunzo. Big ups to Single Second and any kids out their that decide to hop off the couch and follow a dream, whatever that may be.

ITS ALL A PART OF THE PLAN…

I’m 23 years old and I’m still enamored with toys. I’ll always be blown away by something that looks amazingly cool, some call it materialism, I call it art appreciation. In a way it’s kinda of weird to call some of these “toys” a mere toy when it really is a work of art. Hot Toys is probably one of the best creators of 1/6th figures I’ve seen. Check out there latest, a 12 inch Joker figure nothing short of incredible. I’m definitely gonna have to pick up this guy…
