I dunno how many people know or care about Gang Starr, sadly I’d have to say not enough kids do. It’s funny when I talk to kids who like rap and they never even heard about Gang Starr. Anyway, Guru has recently had some pretty serious health issues but seems to be doing better now. Here’s some great tracks from a group that doesn’t get enough play in my opinion.
There’s nothing like seeing a great movie but sometimes the trailer for a movie is way better than the movie itself, and well…that kinda sucks. I think there’s an art to making a great trailer, you don’t wanna show too much but you can’t show too little either. Music is also a big factor, the perfect song can make a trailer really shine. In some weird way I think a great trailer can stand on it’s own, regardless of how good or bad the movie is. Here’s some fairly recent trailers that I can remembering loving, some from movies that weren’t that great and some from movies that were.
I always wanted to make a horror film, some sick, twisted, crazy horror film, but have the trailer be cut so that it was seen as a romantic comedy. People would go into the film expecting one thing and get the total opposite. Maybe the first week’s audience wouldn’t be happy but, when word got out, I think people would appreciate it. This last trailer is a spoof trailer for The Shining, it’s cut to be a family drama. I’m sure most of you have seen this, but what the heck…
